Two of our tapestries depict Pre-Columbian designs/images of the ancient Borgia Codex. We have three books referencing the style and artist who wove our tapestries and made our lithographs.
Some of the unique features that add value to our tapestries:
-woven black outlines surrounding each section of the images.
-the largest tapestry, "Fescatlipoca", is a single piece, woven on a custom loom created to produce a single weaving.
-"Fescatlipoca" is the first tapestry that Emiliano Mendoza wove in his initials EM. Later he changed to a signature.
-Our tapestries are made with the finest quality dyes: cochineal (deep rich red); natural, traditional. Swiss dyes (intense blues and yellows). These dyes have become scarce and are expensive to use.
-Our three tapestries are made with homespun wool, which is not exclusively used at present.
