EXTRA ARMS CARER ACADEMY: Module 2 – Child Protection (Berlin)

Understanding and responding to child safety concerns, with Noa Kanter, M.A. and Sally
Smith, M.A. 

14.03.2020 from 08.30 to 17.00

In this workshop participants will learn to identify the different forms of neglect and abuse,  how to respond to safety concerns, practice the learned skills using case studies and group discussions and will come up with guidelines for action in case of need. Local service providers will be identified.
The course will be taught through English. If you are a speaker of another language let us know and we’ll discuss how we can make it possible for you to attend.
Price for the course is 85 euros (inc. VAT).
The course is hosted by Extra Arms Nanny Agency and will take place at a location to be determined depending on attendance (watch this space!).
Giulia Baldisserri, who set up the agency, will welcome you at 08.30 and introduce the agency to those who are not yet on our books or working through us.
Noa and Sally‘s lesson will start at 09.00 sharp and end at 14.00. From 14.30 to 17.00 Giulia will encourage students to participate in a group discussion, share thoughts, feedback, experiences, research, resources and ask any questions they might have regarding the course topic or the agency itself.

The course fee is non-refundable, but you will be able to use it toward this or any other future Nanny Academy module. Should the course be canceled you will of course receive a full refund.

About Sally and Noa:
Noa Kanter is a licensed Israeli Psychologist with M.A in child clinical Psychology from Bar-Ilan University and a B.A in Psychology and developmental aspects in education from Tel Aviv University. She is a Heilpraktikerin für Psychotherapie and a member of the German psychological association (BDP). Her expertise covers: early childhood autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities and special needs early childhood intervention, psychoeducational assessments, socio-emotional skills training, crisis management, inclusion.
Sally Smith is a registered Australian Psychologist with an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Federation University, and B.A. in Psychological Sciences from La Trobe University. She has experience working as a psychologist in schools and for a youth psychology service, her background is in working as a social worker in a Crisis Centre and her areas of expertise are anxiety, depression, learning disorders, psychoeducational assessments, risk assessment and crisis management, LGBTQI+ issues.
