The flat is located in the very international district of Prenzlauer Berg, which today has become the location of choice of international professionals who are moving to Berlin in large numbers. Known for its cafes and restaurants, and for being spectacularly family-friendly, the area still maintains some of its edginess from years past when it was the city's punk and party center.
The 1900-era architecture with beautiful building facades and high ceilings are a big part of why Prenzlauer Berg has boomed these last years, with no end in sight (you have surely noticed how few unrented flats are available for sale).
Korsörer Straße is an absolute gem. Only 270 meters long with no thoroughfare, it is so quiet that you'd hardly know you were steps away from one of the city's most vibrant parks - Mauerpark with its open air karaoke and famous fleamarket. Or that you're one street away from Gleimstraße with its 20 or so restaurants. Speaking of family friendly: there are three daycares ("Kitas") on this one street alone!
The building itself was renovated between 1998-2000 and is in great shape. The atmosphere in the building, together with neighboring number 6, is one of conviviality, as seen at the annual BBQ and drinks "Hoffest". With a south-facing façade, the building (and this flat in particular) gets tons of sun all day long.
Unusually for Prenzlauer Berg, there's plenty of parking here in zone 43, and a resident parking permit costs only 20.40 EUR per two years. The closest public transit is S+U Bahn station Schönhauser Allee.
